Alisson has been cut to evens (2.0) to sign for Liverpool after reports in Italy suggest the Reds have made a €70 million (£62m) bid for the Roma star.
Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that the Reds are the highest bidders for the goalkeeper, although they have not yet met Roma’s valuation, meaning Chelsea and Real Madrid remain in the hunt.
On Monday, the Brazil stopper was 3/1 (4.0) with William Hill to complete a move to Anfield this summer, but the change in price suggests the deal may be completed sooner than later.
Although Jurgen Klopp seemed insistent on Loris Karius being Liverpool’s number one for the upcoming Premier League season, the reported bid for Alisson suggests otherwise.
Karius made two mistakes in the Champions League loss to Real Madrid which both directly led to goals, but it has since been confirmed he was suffering from concussion in the match and looked set to keep his place.
However, the German made another error against Tranmere in a 3-2 friendly win and the odds suggest Klopp now wants to replace the 25-year-old.
Club after Summer Transfer Window (1st Sept 18) | Price |
---|---|
Liverpool | evens (2.0) |
Chelsea | 7 / 4 (2.75) |
To stay at Roma | 3 /1 (4.0) |
Real Madrid | 6 /1 (7.0) |
Napoli | 33 /1 (26.0) |
Only two days ago, Chelsea were 8/11 (1.73) favourites to sign Alisson but a higher bid from the Reds put them in the driving seat and now the Blues are out at 7/4 (2.75) .
As if that wasn’t enough, the Roma stopper has now removed all mention of the club from his Instagram bio. Although this is far from confirmation, social media can be a key indicator about a player’s intentions in this digital age, ever since Eden Hazard revealed he was signing for Chelsea on Twitter six years ago.
Real Madrid reportedly do not want to go above €60 million (£53m) for Alisson and are out at 6/1 (7.0) , whilst him staying at Roma can be backed at 3/1 (4.0) with William Hill.
