Manchester United v Real Madrid Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Manchester United play their final game of the International Champions Cup at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami against European champions Real Madrid.

Jose Mourinho’s side suffered a 4-1 defeat in their previous match in the tournament against rivals Liverpool and the manager was visibly disappointed after that result.

Mourinho will be looking for a reaction from his squad against a Madrid side who are playing their first game of the summer but who have brought a strong squad to the United States.

Latest odds

The side that lifted a third consecutive Champions League title back in May are clear favourites for the win offered at 8/13 (1.61) with dabblebet.

United are yet to win a game in 90 minutes this summer and are offered at 15/4 (4.75) to claim a victory in Miami, with the draw priced at 3/1 (4.00) .

Team news

Mourinho was quick to point out in the aftermath of the defeat to Liverpool that his squad is still missing a number of key players, with David De Gea, Romelu Lukaku, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford all not travelling.

Real Madrid have brought most of their big names with them on tour, including Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema who were not involved in the World Cup.

The likes of Toni Kroos, Isco and Keylor Navas, none of whom reached the quarter-finals with their countries, are all with the side in Miami.

Preview

Real Madrid’s starting eleven for the game should be considerably stronger than United’s and while the Red Devils should be fitter having already played four matches, they are understandably outsiders.

Julen Lopetegui is likely to make plenty of changes in the second half and the tempo from his side will probably drop given they are only just beginning their preparations for the new season.

However, backing the La Liga outfit to make a strong start could be an intelligent bet given that their starting line up is likely to be relatively close to full strength.

Tips and predictions

Los Blancos are priced at 5/4 (2.25) to win the first half and that seems like a shrewd option.

Fatigue and changes in personnel are likely to take their toll in the second period, yet in the opening 45 minutes Real Madrid should be able to show their superiority
