PSV Eindhoven v BATE Borisov Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, tips and predictions

These two sides served up plenty of late drama in last week’s first leg in Belarus as BATE equalised in the 88th minute to make it 2-2, only for PSV to score seconds later to win the tie.

It was a surprisingly open and entertaining encounter, although the Dutch side will be hoping things are more straight forward at the Philips Stadium on Wednesday night.

Latest odds

PSV’s last defeat in their own stadium was a Europa League qualifier in July 2017, but since then they are unbeaten in 19 home matches in all competitions and bet365 offer them at 1/3 (1.33) for the win.

BATE, meanwhile, have won both of their away qualifiers this summer and are priced at 8/1 (9.00) to notch another victory, with the draw priced at 4/1 (5.00).

Team news

PSV have no major injury concerns ahead of the game. Mexican international forward Hirving Lozano is likley to lead the line looking to continue his impressive scoring start to the season which has seen him net in three consecutive matches.

Preview

This tie is far from over given the score from the first leg, although PSV certainly hold a considerable advantage with their three away goals.

Their strong home record, coupled with their 100 per cent start to the Eredivisie season, should give them plenty of confidence that they can qualify for the group stages of the Champions League for the first time in three seasons.

BATE know they must score to stand a chance and have done so in previous away games at HJK Helsinki and Qarabag, so Wednesday’s game should be as open as the first leg and there should once again be goals.

Tips and predictions

The first leg saw BATE manage 15 shots and PSV rack up 19, giving an indication of what kind of game it was in Belarus.

Over 2.5 goals on Tuesday is priced at 7/10 (1.70) which could be of interest, while the hosts are priced at evens (2.00) to win half time/full time.

Meanwhile, the 9/4 (3.25) about PSV to win and both teams to score looks like excellent value given that the visitors must attack, but Marc Van Bommel’s strength in front of their own fans should see them claim victory.
