Angolan winger Ary Papel has extended his contract with Sporting Lisbon to 2020, but is about to be sent on a season loan to Primeiro Agosto in his native country.
Papel’s impending arrival at Agosto would be a timely boost for the Angolans who have reached the Caf Champions League quarter-finals.
“Sporting triggered the clause that provided for the renewal of contract with Ary Papel for another season,” reported Portuguese publication Abola.
“The Angolan winger, 24, is now tied to Lions until 2020. However, the player is about to be loaned to Primeiro Agosto, the team that plays in the African Champions League. The loan is valid for one year.”
Before joining Sporting Lisbon in 2016, Papel had spent four seasons at Agosto.
He is capped 29 times by Angola since his debut in 2012 and has five international goals to his name.
