Alaves v Real Madrid Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Real Madrid’s failure to find the back of the net in midweek at CSKA Moscow has led to Los Blancos’ longest goal drought in 12 years.

Julen Lopetegui’s men have failed to score in their last five hours of football, and so they will be desperate to end that run this weekend.

The European champions visit an Alaves side who have made a positive start to the La Liga season and are unbeaten in their three home games so far.

Team news

Real Madrid will be missing Isco and Marcelo, while Gareth Bale’s fitness will be assessed after he missed the trip to Russia. Sergio Ramos also did not travel in midweek but should come straight back into the starting eleven.

Marco Asensio

Alaves will be without Brazilian centre-back Rodrigo Ely who is a long term absentee, while winger Burgui had to go off in the side’s last game at Levante and could be a doubt.

Preview

Against CSKA Moscow, Real Madrid had 26 shots on goal, enjoyed 72 per cent possession and hit the woodwork three times yet could not find the net.

The story was the same in their previous matches, managing 15 shots in a 0-0 draw against Atletico Madrid and fashioning 21 shots away to Sevilla but failing to score.

It is clear that Lopetegui’s men are creating openings and they should be able to do so once more against an Alaves side that concede on average this season 14.7 shots a game, the fifth highest in the divsion.

Tips and predictions

Real Madrid to score in both halves is priced at 10/11 (1.91) and is a selection that has paid out in four of the last five meetings between these two sides.

Madrid’s goal drought has to end soon and backing them to net in both halves against a side they usually excel against looks like a solid option.
