Quique Sanchez Flores could be removed from his position as Watford manager if his side are beaten by Southampton on Saturday.
The Hornets travel to St Mary’s looking for just their second victory of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, a lack of goal threat leaving them rooted to the foot of the table.
After 13 rounds of action, Watford have scored eight times, by far the worst return of any top flight side this campaign.

Flores initially left Vicarage Road in the summer of 2016, the owners replacing him after only one season as Hornets boss. However, he was coaxed back to Hertfordshire in September following Javi Gracia’s sacking as head coach.
The Daily Mail claim the 54-year-old is set to receive his marching orders for a second time should Watford fall to defeat at Southampton, with the Saints one place and one point above them in the league standings.
It’s understood the club’s hierarchy are concerned by the team’s lack of improvement since Flores’ return, despite previous suggestions that they would keep faith with the Spaniard.
Hornets chief Gino Pozzo has dismissed ten managers in the last seven years, though he has been against sacking the current incumbent, who has taken charge of a mere ten matches since rejoining.

Nevertheless, the Italian is desperate to ensure Watford retain their top slight status. As a result, he is willing to make a second managerial change in a matter of months to help lift the side out of the relegation zone.
The Hornets’ defence has been highly suspect this season, the new man failing to fix the issues that plagued Gracia during the final months of his spell at Vicarage Road.
Their frontline has also been misfiring, with 13 Premier League sides having scored at least double the amount of goals the Hornets have collected. Moreover, no member of the squad has netted more than two goals this term.
