Juventus Confirm Dejan Kulusevski Signing From Atalanta With Player Set to Arrive in the Summer

Juventus have confirmed the signing of Dejan Kulusevski from Atalanta, with the Swede set to see out his pre-existing season-long loan at Parma before moving to Turin in the summer.

The 19-year-old starlet has impressed during the first half of the campaign for Roberto D’Aversa’s side, starting each of his team’s 17 Serie A games and registering a combined 11 goals and assists in the process.

Kulusevski had previously been linked with a move to Manchester United or Inter, but Juventus have ultimately won the race for his signature – announcing news of his arrival on their official website on Thursday evening.

The Swedish international – who made his national team debut in November 2019 – joins the Old Lady for an initial fee of €35m to be paid in five instalments, while there is also the potential for around €9m of conditional add-ons to inflate his price tag in the future.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Kulusevski will earn €2.5m per season to begin with, with that figure set to rise in each year of his four-and-a-half year contract.

The wide forward – who can also play in midfield – began his career at IF Brommapojkarna in his native Sweden before signing a youth contract at Atalanta in 2016. His Nerazzurri debut came three years later in a 5-0 win over Frosinone.

Kulusevski may not be the signing that Juventus make in January with the Serie A holders being linked with a number of players. Maurizio Sarri is understood to be keen to reunite with Olivier Giroud who he managed at Chelsea last season, while the Marc-André ter Stegen has also been sensationally touted for a move to the club.

Giroud may be being lined up as a potential replacement for Mario Mandzukic who posted an emotional farewell message to the Juventus fans last week, following his move to Qatar-based side Al-Duhail.
