No more baffling, contradicting or downright nonsensical reporting to come anymore. Indeed, Bruno Fernandes is set to become a Manchester United player barring any unforeseen medical hiccups. Which, even for opposing fans, we’re all hopeful will unfold without a hitch.
An end to months of speculation and, for United fans, hopes that an end to their miserable situation is just over the horizon.
In fact, the next time the sun comes over the horizon, it may very well be the last day that Fernandes is a Sporting CP player. He’s jetting off the Manchester on Wednesday night to get nice and cosy ahead of Thursday’s medical, all of which was officially announced by the club themselves.
What does that mean? Their website crashed and Twitter exploded.
Naturally, the relief permeated across the club’s fanbase as they look to finally secure their man.
Finally Bruno Fernandes is on his way!!!

The mouths of swathes of United supporters began salivating at the thought of the club’s potential starting lineup, with dreams of Paul Pogba and Fernandes causing mayhem in the Premier League too much to handle for the overjoyed fanbase.
Just thinking of the damage Pogba and Fernandes can cause to teams and its giving me goosebumps

Ermm…Ok. At the end of the day it’s a great signing but there is no need to get THAT excited about someone who will kick a football a lot.
Pogba and Fernandes pinging those 60yard passes, I’m wet already, my ovaries

Oh wait, never mind. Everyone is up to it.
Meh, who am I kidding? Major arrivals is what fans dream of. Let them savour it.

Bruno Fernandes will really make United’s midfield click… he may even unlock Pogba.

One particular person, who has been under the spotlight recently for all the wrong reasons, received a mention as well.
Having come under severe criticism from United fans, to the point of having his house vandalised by mindless thugs, special praise was reserved for vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Despite what people may think of him, I would like to say thank you to Ed Woodward for potentially saving our season.
Without him, we wouldn’t have Bruno Fernandes.#WoodwardIn

Ed Woodward waited until today to announce Bruno Fernandes just to make sure Arteta’s first Arsenal signing doesn’t even make it on the news tonight
The man’s a savage #MUFC #BrunoFernandes

It’s not all great news, though.
Indeed, plenty of United fans were fearing that Fernandes’ arrival spelled the end for a certain French midfielder, who has been riddled with injuries throughout the season. An attacking midfielder coming in for a slightly less attacking midfielder could mean curtains for Pogba’s Old Trafford career.
That’s what plenty thought, anyway.
A player who thinks of where he will pass the ball even before he gets it, pro-active.
I pray Pogba doesn’t leave just yet. Imagine them both with Fred and Scott behind. Slaughterhouse https://t.co/6SB0D3ANcc

There were also those who hoped it would signal the end of the World Cup winner’s second stint at the club, eyeing up other targets to fill the void his substantial transfer fee could afford to fill.
McTomminay Fred and Bruno, that’s my midfield 3, fuck Pogba off to Port Vale
— Bennywise (@MrKoolade) January 29, 2020
I just hope he flourish in England …enough of this Pogba shit

With heaps of expectation already being placed on Fernandes’ shoulders, the final emotion coming out of Twitter was a hope for calm.
A call for patience in his development.
A call for support as he adjusts to the league.
A call for the rest of the squad to step up.
Never watched Fernandes play! The complexity and length of transfer negotiations have led to some fans thinking its Messi we’re signing! Hope they show patience and are not disappointed.Personally hope he can play No10, because that’s what we need.

If we sign Bruno Fernandes (which was unimaginable a few days ago) I hope #MUFC fans give the guy some time to adjust to this shit show of a team. Its taken Fred a while but he’s our best midfielder now. Please be patient with Bruno and don’t kill him after a few games.

Bruno Fernandes alone wont improve United’s issues.
We need a world class striker, a defender that can take charge and decent wingers.
The current team is mediocre at best.— J Smurf (@jdmsmurf) January 29, 2020
Oh, and there is always time to poke fun at Arsenal, of course.
Always time for that.
United are signing Bruno Fernandes, we’ve signed Bergwijn but Arsenal are signing some unknown Brazilian farmer
