Cetic’s star forward Odsonne Édouard has been named the Scottish Football Writer’s Association (SWFA) player of the year.
The Frenchman enjoyed a stellar season at Parkhead this term, finishing the season as the club’s top goalscorer with 28 goals.
The 22-year-old arrived at Celtic Park from Paris Saint-Germain, initially on loan, in 2017, before signing permanently the following summer after a successful first season with the Glasgow giants.

The forward has been rewarded for his fine performances this term, scooping the award ahead of teammate Callum McGregor, Rangers’ divisive striker Alfredo Morelos and Dundee United’s Lawrence Shankland, as revealed on the SWFA’s website.
The accolade marks further acclaim for Celtic, as Édouard becomes the seventh player in a row form the club to win the award.
With this recognition of his fine season, it will no doubt heighten the attention surrounding the young striker as potential suitors continue to grow.
The forward has admirably stepped into the shoes of former striker Moussa Dembélé, and may look to follow the Lyon striker away from Paradise – with 90min exclusively revealing in January that the forward was keen on a Premier League move.
That being said, he may not be in any rush to abandon his adoring fans, with Neil Lennon recently confirming that the club are in talks to offer a new contract to their star man.
