The draws for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the 2019 Europa League have been made ahead of the delayed competition’s scheduled restart in early August.

The explosion of the coronavirus crisis in March forced UEFA to put the competition on hold while last 16 ties were still to be completed. But the date for resumption is now nearing.

Manchester United are already virtually assured of their place in the quarter-finals by virtue of hold a 5-0 aggregate lead over Austrian club LASK. Wolves are well placed to make it through but have work to do in their last 16 second leg to see of Olympiacos.

The last 16 ties involving Inter and Roma were postponed before the first legs were played.

This season’s Europa League will now be concluded as a straight knockout mini-tournament played in Germany across venues in Duisburg, Dusseldorf, Gelsenkirchen and Cologne. The latter will host the final on Friday 21 August, with earlier rounds on 10 and 11 August and 16 and 17 August.

The outstanding last 16 ties that have not yet begun – Inter vs Getafe and Sevilla vs Roma – will also become one-off knockout games played in Germany. But those that are halfway through – including Manchester United vs LASK – will be completed at the originally intended venues.
