Remember when it seemed like Cristiano Ronaldo was slowing down?
Nope. Not happening.
The 35-year-old scored a double on Monday night as Juventus’ 2-1 win over Lazio inched them closer to sealing a ninth straight Scudetto, putting the Old Lady eight points clear with four games to go.
The Old Lady’s old man was at the centre of attention once again, bagging his 29th and 30th goals of the Serie A season and drawing level with Ciro Immobile in the race for Capocannoniere – the division’s top scorer.
The Portuguese bagged a penalty and then tapped one in on the break, after some unselfish work from Paulo Dybala, as Lazio were caught in possession on the halfway line.
So, 30 goals for the season… 51 in total in Serie A for Ronaldo. That tally makes him the first player in history to have scored 50 (or more) in the top tiers of England, Spain and Italy. I know what you’re thinking… no, Jon Dahl Tomasson didn’t quite do it.

And there have been some good players to play in Italy in that time, mind…

Andriy Shevchenko (Milan) took 68 games to score his half century, while the other Ronaldo (Inter and AC Milan) needed 70 outings… pffft slow poke.
Meanwhile, Messi has zero goals in Serie A. Not even one.
Good thing the Ballon d’Or is cancelled this year or it would be a walkov— Lewandowski you say? Huh. Ok, fair enough.
As for Juventus, they can secure their annual title with just five more points. Up next is almost-safe Udinese this Thursday, before meetings with Sampdoria, Cagliari and Roma.
