Man Utd predicted lineup vs Tottenham – Premier League

Ralf Rangnick will be looking for a response from his players as Man Utd host Tottenham in the battle for the top four in the Premier League.

United were embarrassed by their city rivals in the Manchester Derby last time out, leading to accusations from former captain Roy Keane that the side had ‘given up’ in the second half.

The defeat also damaged United’s bid for the top four after Arsenal’s win earlier in the day, although victory this weekend would open up a five-point gap on Tottenham – albeit having played two games more.

Here’s how Man Utd could line up.

Raphael Varane

David De Gea (GK) – One of the best shot stoppers in the division, but his reluctance to sweep up behind his defence is undermining Rangnick’s approach.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) – Endured a chastening afternoon against City’s left-hand side last weekend, with very little to support from elsewhere.

Raphael Varane (CB) – The Frenchman is likely to go straight back into the side following his return from Covid-19.

Harry Maguire (CB) – His confidence looks completely shredded at the moment, but United have few options in reserve.

Luke Shaw (LB) – Similar to Varane, the Englishman’s qualities are missed by Man Utd when he’s not involved.

Bruno Fernandes - Soccer Player - Born 1994

Scott McTominay (CM) – Criticism of his ability on the ball is valid, but Rangnick appreciates his endeavour out of possession.

Fred (CM) – Made just one tackle against City last weekend, which encapsulated Man Utd’s performance.

Bruno Fernandes (AM) – Four goal contributions in his last six games, which puts the recent criticism of the Portuguese into context.

Jadon Sancho (RW) – His expertly-taken finish against Man City last time out may have been in vain, but it capped off a very fine last few months for the summer arrival.

Marcus Rashford (ST) – He may be unhappy with his lack of game time at United, but this weekend could be a chance to prove his worth.

Paul Pogba (LW) – Lovely through pass to release Sancho for his equaliser at the Etihad last weekend.
